In september 2013 a company was founded with big plans on updating the mobile industry. They always believed that smartphones can’t offer what the pace of the technology is demanding. Never satisfied by the latest technology, their projects were bold but not impossible. This company, Symetium by its name, came with a refreshing product that was very much expected by many savvy tech users. A cutting-edge-technology smartphone that would have the same specifications as a PC.
The idea is not unique, as Canonical tried this before, but focusing on a mix between Ubuntu for desktop and Android for mobile. After more than 3 years of heavy work, Symetium launched the Symetium smartphone prototype that works as a PC if docked and is entirely based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Once you connect this phone to your PC, the phone will activate a keyboard and a mouse for better use.
This brilliant phone has all the technology of a computer packed in a smartphone. More storage, more innovation and more screens! Yes, the Symetium Smartphone can be connected to multiple screens (PC, table etc) all at once by using the UI (Use Interface environments). Basically, you can use your phone as a monitor, with up to 256 GB of Storage.
Symetium comes with a SnapDragon Processor 820 which will feel like a PC, 6 GB/RAM Memory, and 3 versions with 64 GB/ 128/256 storage options. The cheaper one is, obviously the 64 GB model for $699, $799 for the 128 GB model, $999 for 256 GB version.
The next step to turn this product in reality is to raise the sum of $1.25 million that will eventually allow this product to be sold on the market. Those of you who want to help this project grow are requested to contribute on the INDIEGOGO campaign. Currently, 130 people raised $59 000 in only 6 days, which looks to be a big buzz in this industry.
By the end of August, 2016, the company plans to begin shipping worldwide, so why don’t we give them a chance to make this happen?
